Yes we can treat most people, so long as your hair is not grey/white or very blonde, we can treat all skin colours and hair types. A full consultation would establish any reason why you would not be suitable.
The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair follicle and converted to heat, which destroys root of the hair while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected.
Treatment sensation varies but is often described as a ‘flick of an elastic band’. No anesthetic is required and most clients describe the discomforts as moderate and tolerable. Our GentleMax Pro laser has a built in cooling device to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible.
The skin may be red and warm immediately after treatment, the hair follicles may be swollen and raised but this usually subsides within a few hours.
Treatments can take as little as 10 minutes and up to 3 hours (for a full body).
However you need a course of treatments which can vary from six to eight at 4-6 week intervals. This depends on many factors including your skin and hair type, ethnic background, hormonal balance, and area being treated.
The laser only destroys hairs when they're in the growth phase which is why you need to wait a few weeks between treatments.
You must not expose the treatment area for 4 weeks prior to treatment and during treatment and no self tanning products should be used. No plucking or waxing of the area only shaving to ensure there is hair growing from the follicle.
It is recommend to avoid very hot baths or showers 6 hours after treatment, do not have any heat treatments such as saunas and steam rooms as well as Jacuzzis for 6 hours or go swimming as the chemicals in the water may cause a skin reaction for 48 hours
